A unique savoury speciality. A mild Bancha tea is combined with toasted (and popped) brown rice to produce an unusual roasted and slightly nutty flavour.

The legend goes that a Japanese samurai was enjoying a cup of green tea one day. A servant accidentally dropped some rice into his cup. The samurai beheaded the servant on the spot. Afterwards he tasted the tea and finding it to his liking honoured the servant whom he had killed.
